Terms of Service
Last updated: 27 July 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and IT Nest Limited, Office 3906, 39/F, The Center, 99 Queen's Road Central, Central, Hong Kong (BRN 77297048) ("we"), a private company limited by shares incorporated in Hong Kong, which operates CapitalsQuiz. Using the site or the app means you accept them.
The service
CapitalsQuiz provides geography quiz games on this website and in the CapitalsQuiz iOS app. Free play includes five games per day per device and the free mode set. Premium is a paid subscription that removes the daily limit and opens all 13 modes.
Your account
You can play without an account. An account is required only to subscribe, and is created by signing in with Google or with a one-time link sent to your email address. Keep access to that mailbox: whoever can read it can sign in as you. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has. You may close your account at any time by writing to the same address.
Subscriptions, renewal and cancellation
Premium is billed either monthly ($3.99) or yearly ($29.99, quoted on the pricing page as $2.50 per month and charged once a year) through Stripe on the web, or through the App Store in the iOS app. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax that may be added at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, at the price then shown on the pricing page, until you cancel.
Cancel a web subscription any time in the Stripe billing portal, reachable from Manage subscription in your account menu or from the link in your receipt email; cancel an App Store subscription in your Apple ID settings. Cancelling stops future renewals — premium stays on until the end of the period you have already paid for, and no refund of that period is due for cancelling.
A web subscription unlocks premium on this website, in every browser you sign in from. An App Store subscription unlocks premium in the iOS app. The two are separate purchases today and neither carries over to the other; we are working on linking them, and this page will say so when they are linked.
Refunds
If you are in the EU or the UK you have a statutory 14-day right to withdraw from a purchase made online. Premium is digital content supplied immediately, and by subscribing you ask us to start supplying it at once and acknowledge that this ends the withdrawal right once supply has begun; we refund anyway, in full, if you write within 14 days of the charge and have not played a premium round in that period.
Outside that window we refund a charge you did not intend — an accidental renewal you tell us about promptly, a double charge, or premium you paid for but never received. Write to [email protected]. App Store purchases are refunded by Apple, through Apple's own process; we cannot refund them ourselves.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to disrupt the service, scrape it at abusive rates, or circumvent the daily limit or premium checks. We may suspend accounts that do. If we suspend an account with time left on a paid period and the suspension was not deserved, you get that time back or a refund for it.
Content and data
Quiz content draws on public reference data. Flag graphics come from the open-source flag-icons project (MIT license); map shapes derive from Natural Earth (public domain). Country facts are curated for the game and provided without warranty of academic precision. Your own use of the site is personal and non-commercial; the site's design, text and code remain ours.
Availability and liability
The service is provided as-is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and features may change or be withdrawn. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for a consumer's statutory rights. Subject to that, our total liability for any claim connected with the service is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong SAR, and the courts of Hong Kong SAR have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. This does not affect the protection of any mandatory consumer law of the country you live in: if you are a consumer, you keep the rights your own law gives you and may bring proceedings in your own courts.
Changes
We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new date above; if a change affects an active subscription, it applies from your next renewal.
